Well hey there, my name is Boston or as my foster momma likes to call me, Boss. I'm sure right off the bat you noticed my handsome smile and my southern charm.
I'm from deep South, But I settled into the Midwest life quickly! My foster mom has a list of rules and regulations, and I've surprised her with how quick I picked up on everything. I have pretty awesome doggie foster siblings who have helped me adjust, and also be there to cuddle with! We all three bonded right away, and have been the typical siblings ever since. Other friends I've made in my new house are some of this small fluffy dogs... I think my mom calls them Cats? I don't know, but I do know that I like them!
Like I said, I picked up on commands quickly and have even added on some. I have sit, wait, look, crate up, back-up, and settle all under my belt. I am doing great following them all and not pushing my luck. I'm fantastic in my crate and willingly race into it to sit and wait for my prize! I usually hang out in my crate during the day and chew on my marrow bones without a peep. If I know you're home, and I'm excited to see you I will let out one little excited bark, but that's it. When I first moved in I was crated at night and didn't raise heck. I do prefer to be cuddled in bed with my foster family though.
The one thing that has been a struggle is my diet change! My foster mom delicately put that I was on the "fluffy" side, but with my nutrition change I've already dropped 10 pounds and that got me started on my summer 2017 bikini body.
I have been a really good pup for my foster mom, and even had to teach my foster brother that bath time is a fun time, and that nail trims aren't all that scary. I don't have a lot of energy for my foster mom to help me burn, so if I'm excited I can go on a short walk or do some good mental drains, my favorite are hide and seek, or giving me a marrow bone with some frozen coconut oil in the middle, and after a few minutes I'm ready for a nap!
A few more of my favorite things are car rides, chewing on a good bone, having someone to play with, and PEOPLE. I love anyone and everyone that I meet. Babies to grandparents are all okay to me! Oh, and cuddling.. did I mention that? I have worked on this one thing that my foster mom calls "Personal Space", but I just don't get it. I'm only 45 pounds... that's basically a lap dog right?!
One thing I did have some trouble with is confidence, but with my foster mom and siblings I have came a long way and have turned into an adventurous boy. I wasn't sure of myself, and was scared of a lot of things simply because I didn't know what they were. One of the scariest things to me, was hard wood floors. Today, you would never know that I was once with how fast I can fly around with my foster brother on my tail.
I'm just a southern gentlmen looking for my forever family, and I hope I can find them soon!
