Encore’s foster family is learning just how Encore can live up to his name. You just can’t get enough and always want more! Encore is a young fella that encompasses all that you’d imagine a good trip to Vegas should. He’s fun, energetic and always ready to play! Encore is a quick learner and is picking up on all the tips and tricks his foster family has to offer!

 

Encore can sit, shake, lay down, and is working really hard on “stay”. He is doing great at learning the “look” command. Encore is great on a tie down and loves to relax nicely on a bed with a bone or chew toy. He’s young and loves to play with other laid-back females. He’s still learning that if you play too rough, other dogs call it quits and that’s no fun. Imagine puppy in an adult body! He loves the flirt pole and is learning that “drop it” means you get to play more. Encore still thinks it’s fun to run around with the toy rather than fetch, but a good treat will go a long way in redirecting his mind. His favorite toys are stuffed toys, that usually get de-stuffed, and durable chew toys like Nylabones, marrow bones, and Kongs.

Encore loves to explore outside. He may be a Southern dog, but he loves snow and colder weather. Encore has already learned that his gentle leader means outside time and walks, so he sits nicely while you put it on. He’s becoming a great walker on a leash and would love a family that will take him exploring! He loves to go running with foster dad and has already learned to use the treadmill inside. An active family will be a must for pup.

Encore has a medium energy level for his young age and calms down nicely after some exercise or outdoor time. Encore prefers to be left alone with his toys and bones. This is where he’s learning that his crate and tie down are safe places and aren’t so bad! He’s great with kids when he’s up for some play time, but anyone willing to give him love and scratches are top notch in his book! Because of Encore's energy and commitment to not sharing "his possession" a family with children 12+ will be needed.

Encore is crate trained and has no accidents in his crate since day one! He doesn’t enjoy going into his crate, but a few treats will coax him. Once he’s inside he sleeps nicely and sleeps all night long. He waits nicely for his food and usually waits to be let on the furniture. Sometimes the zoomies get the best of his manners and he can’t help himself. He’s got to jump off and on things and do all the zoomies. Once he’s got that out of his system, he’s a great cuddler!

Encore is a great, young dog that has so much to learn and is willing to make the effort. He’s sweet, handsome and a great cuddler. Like most terriers, Encore is a limit pusher being a young pup, so a strong experienced leader for him will be a must. Who wouldn’t want that kind of encore in their life every day?!?
