about Fauna

Fauna – synonyms: survivor (n)

“An animal that survives in spite of adversity”

This tiny beauty has certainly shown everyone at SEPR just what kind of a survivor she is after being used for breeding and then discarded for another new flavor of the month. Shelter life quickly took its toll on her mental stability, but we are already quickly seeing the diamond in the rough appearing. A good bath to wash away layers of grime, a much needed visit to Dr. Tom to ensure no more puppies will ever be made, and a quiet foster family to show her what a true “home” is like.

Fauna is one smart cookie and always two steps ahead in her foster home, picking up commands and learning the rules like a pro. Some of the commands Fauna has mastered include: Sit, Look, Stay, Down, Shake, and Kennel. She is also food driven and motivated, which makes training a breeze with this girl.

Fauna is a higher energy dog, but she also loves snuggling up on the couch with her humans. Fauna enjoys going for walks (she is becoming quite the great walking partner), she also loves to play fetch, chew on her bones, food puzzles, playing with toys in the yard, and going for rides. Fauna would make a great partner for anyone that enjoys being outdoors.  When Fauna is ready for downtime, she loves nothing more than to snuggle up with people and blankets. Fauna has shown her foster family that she very much likes to be where they are. She is a lover!

Fauna is completely house trained, and has not had an accident while at her foster home. Fauna does great with bath time and nail clipping, she enters the tub willingly and enjoys a good scrub down.

Fauna is a very special girl and has shown us that with a strong leader and a solid management, she can enjoy other canine friends. Fauna is still a young girl that loves to play, so a nice laid back male companion would be ideal.

We cannot wait to see this girl blossom even more – full of spunk and life, the sky is certainly the limit for this one.
