"I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany." Elrondo Burgundo, or more commonly known as Ron Burgundy, is an elder-bull that absolutely loves to cuddle. Ron is about as easygoing as they come, and is sure to delight any family that scoops him up!

 

Mr Burgundy has started integration with the resident female dog and things are going great, he's quite active for an older gentleman and will run and play with his canine sister.  He listens very well and follows commands. Ron knows sit, lay and shake and is working on "look".

 

Ron is kenneled in the same room as his foster siblings, which helps him be more relaxed. He is a bit voicestress if left in a room by himself. Ron has never had an accident in the house, he will look at foster dad and run to the door if he needs out. Ron is currently not kenneled at night, he has full bedroom with a baby gate in the doorway, and shows his maturity by being very quiet at night. His favorite pastime is laying on the couch and being a lap dog, he loves pets and praise... so while he would really enjoy the right canine companion to retire with, his heart is really committed to his best peeps. 

 

Like a true professional, he did well in the bath... only request is that he asked for nobody to mention he needed to be lifted in. He stood patiently while getting squeaky clean, and now he smells good enough that we don't have to bring that up!! He is currently being treated for heartworms and taking antibiotics for a tick born disease - mycoplasma haemocanis. Ron takes his pills like a champ in a pill pocket. Ron is very food motivated. We hope to have Ron's health back in perfect condition within a couple of months. Also, he will soon be receiving a dental to take care of his pearly white smile as well!

Whoever is lucky enough to have Ron in their pack would be very blessed as he is the ultimate package... play for a short period, then take a nap kind of dog.
