about truffle

 Like any decadent chocolate truffle, this beauty will melt her way right into your heart! Truffle has a lot more to offer than just her good looks though. She has a captivating sweetness with a fun loving personality to match.

After her first foster home had to move across the country, Truffle moved to Sioux Falls to a brand new foster home where she got to start experiencing all the things the city has to offer.  Truffle has frequented the dog friendly breweries in town, enjoyed Sunday pack walks with her foster friends, all kinds of new experiences for her. While she has enjoyed everything, she still can take some time to warm up to new people or new environments.

     Truffle is adaptable and learns quickly with repetition and watching her foster brother and sister. With each meal time comes the repetitive practice of sit, wait, and look, which she has mastered with flying colors! So much so that foster mom has had to expand her bag of tricks, she quickly mastered turning in a circle, shake, and roll over.  She is eager to learn and eager to please her foster parents in hopes that they’ll tell her forever family how great she is with learning new skills! 

Like every dog, Truffle has a few quirks that foster mom has worked on, the main one being guarding food in the kitchen. Which was easily corrected with not allowing dogs in the kitchen if there is any food out. Truffle, being a smart girl, happily lays behind the line with the rest of the dogs.

While she may not be a fan of small dogs, or cats, with slow introductions, firm expectations, and proper management, Truffle settled right in to the pack at her new foster home. She enjoys the company of her foster brother and sister, and is often found snuggled up next to one of them. She definitely enjoys outings more if one of her foster siblings comes with. 

 She sleeps on tie down at night in her foster parents bedroom and is so happy to be in the same room as her family at night that she always curls right into her blankets and falls fast asleep. In the morning, she'll be the first one to greet you with a big smile on her face and a happy, wiggly butt!!

     Truffle has an adventurous demeanor and wants to learn everything she can about her surrounding environment. She has learned to play with her toys loves to chase them down the hallway and prance proudly back to you so you can throw the toy again! Although she really loves to play, she is also perfectly content nestled in your lap or curled up on the floor.

     Truffle is thoroughly enjoying her days in her foster home and is growing tremendously but she can’t help but dream about adoption day with the family who chooses to open up their home to her forever!
