Bodhi is a name of Sanskrit origin, meaning "awakening" and "enlightenment." The name is also synonymous with the concept of nirvana.

 

Bodacious Bodhi was found as a stray, but you wouldn't know that unless told. The shelter used Bodhi to determine other dogs' reactivity. This buff boy came to live with his foster family with a clean bill of health and some basic commands, even a trick or two. Since he's been out of the shelter, he has shown himself to be a calm and well-mannered young man... Except when showing off his vertical leap skills. He fully believes he has to get in at least one kiss to his human while they are standing. Just a quick, unintrusive peck. It really is quite impressive!

 

Affectionately known as Bo Bo, is a sweet and gentle soul. A youngster with an old soul's calm demeanor. At just around 2 years old, Bodhi already exudes the laid-back vibe of an 80-year-old! He's a master of relaxation and enjoys nothing more than lounging around, soaking up the atmosphere.

 

Bodhi is house and kennel trained. He knows sit, stay, leave it, shake, drop-it, off, come, and trade. We are working on lay down as well as relaxing his training for vertical leap world record. Bodhi came into rescue somewhat starved and is still learning to take treats and food politely. Due to this we believe a home without young children would be best at this time. He does do well with kids of all ages when there is no food present.

 

He is the ultimate co-pilot on car rides and doesn't mind riding in the backseat or cargo area if he has too. Grooming this guy is a breeze. He patiently waits during baths and nail trims. 

 

Bodhi's favorite pastime is chewing on his toys, though he's not one to destroy them – he just loves the sensation of gnawing away. He especially adores toys with cloth covers or stuffies. While he'll happily indulge in a game of fetch, don't expect him to return the toy indefinitely; he's more likely to find a cozy spot nearby and settle in for a chew session.

 

When it comes to walks, Bodhi is a dream on the leash. He is still getting used to his gentle leader but once it's on he doesn't mess with it. He'll trot along by your side, taking in the sights and sounds with contentment. If you're looking for a laid-back companion to join you on leisurely strolls and relaxed evenings at home, Bodhi is your perfect match!

Bodhi would do well as an only pet or with others as long as introduced properly and taking as much time as needed.
