about BOLOGNA
Hi there! I’m Bologna. I’m told I’m a big brute of a boy, but I really want to give you kisses. Lots and lots and lots of kisses. I’m a pretty good boy if I do say so myself. I live with my three canine foster siblings, two feline foster siblings and many humans. I love them all! I especially love people. I will do almost anything for people, including immediately listening to my ridiculous new name, Bologna. BUT I have come around to it and decided there are plenty of fun nicknames, and I love that I get a lot of giggles whenever I walk into a room!
I am crate-trained, house-trained and know basic commands. I’m practicing daily to improve and learn new manners for my forever family! I was not a fan of being in a cage when they first saved me, but when you get a kong full of yummy veggies, I guess I can nap for an hour or two.
I am excited to meet all things, big and small, short and tall! While I think it’s fun, sometimes the cats don’t like me to get too close. My canine foster siblings are pretty paw-esome, but I’m still learning that sometimes they want space to relax. I love having other dogs around and occasionally get overly excited to hang with them. I’m not used to being able to rest next to people and dogs all together in a house! It’s different, but I’m catching on quickly and love the comfy beds and couches we hang out on. I’m beginning to understand boundaries and what other dogs’ body language means. I’m learning a lot about dogs and people and have come a long way in only a few months!
I am stubborn and can sometimes feel slighted when other dogs correct me, so I get a little sad and grumbly. Most of the time, I just need a simple reminder to behave. I’ll relax, then try to play again later.
I have never met a person I did not like. Like I said above, I’m a bit of a brute. I try hard not to wiggle too much around younger kids, but I sometimes don’t realize my size and strength and knock them over. I’m working on better leash manners, which will, hopefully, also help with being able to control my enthusiasm around new visitors. We’ve all got quirks; just think of meeting me as you would meeting Buddy the Elf. It’s going to be hectic, but it’s also going to be fun! I mean, even a slightly less excited version of me will still be pretty fantastic and magical, I’m told 😉!
So, while I learn manners and meet lots of fun new people and doggos, I’ll perfect my puppy dog eyes and big sloppy kisses. Hopefully, my methods can swoon you, but if they can’t win you over, I’ve got my failsafe of puppy dog eyes and big ol’ pittie kisses! Sounds just about perfect, right?!? I think you are too, so let’s get together soon!
