about BOO
Hi everyone! I’m SEPR Boo and I arrived to Sioux Falls from Georgia with the Halloween Miracle 2022 rescue. I came into my foster home pretty shut down and not knowing what was going on, but I have adapted to life in South Dakota surprisingly well!
When I came here, I was heartworm positive and had a pretty yucky UTI to deal with. I have slowly healed up from both of those, and just had a tooth pulled and the rest polished up pretty with Dr. Tom so I am now fully healthy and ready to find my forever home.
I’m a pretty laid-back gal who loves to be anywhere that my people are. I am quite content to snuggle with you on the couch, or hang out and help with the laundry. At first, my foster family didn’t think that I liked toys. I guess I just didn’t really know what to do with them because I am a big fan now. My favorites are anything I can give a good chew to. If you have any toys that need to be tore apart, I am definitely your girl!
Another thing that I absolutely love is laying on my back, being adored by my people, having them scratch my belly. I do sometimes show my appreciation with an open mouth, but my foster mom is slowly teaching me that people don’t always appreciate that approach. I’m starting to understand that my mouth can be used for some things, but not others. I have also learned that my people like it when I chew on things that are for dogs but don’t like it when I chew on shoes. I only made that mistake once! My foster mom showed me lots of dogs items I can chew on and I haven’t done it again since! I’m learning so much, now that I am a house dog!
I currently live with two teenagers, one big dog, like me, two small dogs, and a cat. I love them all! My foster family thinks that I would do well with kids, who understand that I am learning not to use my mouth to say thank you and most animals with a proper introduction. My foster family introduced me to my current dogs siblings very slowly, and that worked out well.
I have done very well transitioning to be an inside dog, and I am crate trained and potty trained. My foster family has me on a little bit of a diet right now, but I’ve learned to like most veggies that dogs can have so that’s going pretty well.
My training for basic commands is also going well. My foster mom says I am a natural! I already know sit, wait, ok, off and look. I’m also very good at walking nicely on a leash. I do need to work on my stamina, though, since I had heartworms before. This South Dakota weather that you guys have is not very good for walking in the winter!
Overall, my foster family tells me that I am a very good girl. I would fit in well to many different kinds of families. If you’re looking for a pretty girl with eyes that will melt your heart, I would love to join your family.
