Buzz Lightyear is an intelligent boy that is always looking for an escapade. He takes his catchphrase to infinity and beyond very seriously as he adventures every chance he gets. Buzz can be on the shy and timid side around new humans. Our little mix breed boy is learning how to be brave in this big new world!

Buzz loves his foster sister, who is a SEPR Alum, and they will play and chase each other as fast as they can. As Buzz winds down from his hard day of adventuring, he loves cuddles and belly scratches while he buries himself in the pillows. He waits to get on furniture and the bed, but loves to be around his trusted people. He's usually just content to hang out with someone. You will often find him around the curtains or plants slowly rubbing his back on them to get his own pets.

Buzz is all boy but he has taken a lot of inspiration from his foster sister and has figured out how to use that sad dog look to get attention or treats. He sleeps in his kennel at night and when his foster parents are not home. Buzz's kennel is his safe spot, and he will often be found there napping with the door wide open.

Buzz goes outside in his fenced yard, and when the sun is out, often flops down on his side to soak up the rays. Aside from sunbathing, he wanders the great expanse of his backyard in search of fun and mischief with his canine sidekick.

​

Buzz is not a fan of fireworks or loud noises like thunder and will need a little lap time during these scary events. He does great on a leash and is learning to stay calm when seeing another dog or animal, like a rabbit. He loves to train and does well with commands, but will still get a little anxious around other dogs. Buzz has done some sessions with Nerdy K9 to fine tune his skills. With there recommendation, Buzz is on a very low dose medication to help with his anxiety, which helps him a lot. He takes one pill daily.

Buzz seems to have some herding instincts (likely a herding breed mix), as he can often be found trying to move the cats to go where he wants them to. Buzz gets along well with the felines as they have accepted each other, but he can sometimes be a little too much into their business. He responds very well to the “leave it” command.

​

Buzz would be a great addition to a low key family that enjoys mental stimulation and fun with their pups. For his confidence, Buzz's ideal family will need a laid back female canine companion to show him the ropes. Because he can be nervous around strangers, a home without small children will be best suited for him.

​
