****CAPTAIN CRUNCH IS IN NEED OF A FOSTER HOME!!! CAN HE CRASH ON YOUR COUCH??****

O Captain! my Captain!

 

You might remember Captain Crunch from a litter of puppies born into SEPR on July 13, 2019 called "The Breakfast Club." He was always an over achiever and the first to do anything when it came to him and his siblings.  But today he's back with SEPR due to his family moving and not able to bring him with (insert sad face here) it goes without saying that Captain Crunch was very confused and disorientated due to losing his family, but we have promised him that his next family is just around the corner to love him forever.

 

A littler older, a littler wiser and a lot bigger (HA!) this strapping young lad is well past that crazy puppy stage and is working hard on becoming a more confident young adult! Crunchie is a very sweet, kind hearted low-key boy, with tons of love and kisses to give.  He can be very shy and warry of new things, but once he warms up to you, you'll never be alone again!! He may not be a cute tiny puppy any more but this big boy still thinks he is very much "itty bitty" and really likes to get in close for some attention and snugs and lots of kisses. Some of this is due to his lack of confidence and trying to find a safety zone to feel comfortable in. His favorite past time is hanging out with his family whether it's relaxing on the couch during movie night or going for a drive, he prefers to be by your side. He truly lives for the humans he trusts in his small circle!  

 

Captain already has all of the basics under his belt and has completed SEPR's train-a-bull class! He knows sit, lay, look, and is house and crate trained. He isn’t the biggest fan of his crate, mainly because he prefers to be with his people, but will tolerate it if he must. Crate time is always made a little better with a comfy spot to lay his head and lots of yummy chew treats, or peanut butter filled Kongs.  Captain Crunch does ok with bath time, and nail clippings mainly because it involves being with his people.

 

In his previous home Crunchie lived with two grade school children as well as two other dogs (a female and another male).  In his next home he's hoping maybe it could be a little less hectic, so he can continue to grow and gain confidence. Captain's ideal home is going to have a confident dog knowledgeable human that has a consistent schedule and lifestyle that is not going to be changing. Captain needs a solid routine he can count on by his trusted human. He will need to be an only pet, and training sessions with a certified Sioux Falls trainer and behaviorist will be provided as well with his adoption. Captain will not be the dog that is the socialite of the party. He needs minimal exposure as most things in the world scare him at this point. 

 

At 2 years old Crunch is a special dog with needs that should be clearly understood and worked with for his well being and future. He's ready to pack up the foster life (for good) and find a human ready for a long term commitment! O Captain! my Captain we love you and we promise you'll get just that this time around!
