Oh, Danny Boy.. the forever homes are calling!

 

And trust us, once you meet this handsome young heartthrob, you’ll understand exactly why.

Danny Boy’s story started in a place no young dog should spend his summer, sitting in a rural Animal Control over the Fourth of July, waiting and hoping while we desperately searched for somewhere safe for him to land. Thankfully, a foster home finally opened its doors, and Danny Boy wasted absolutely no time showing us that underneath that ridiculously handsome exterior is one pretty spectacular pup.

​

This boy simply takes life in stride. Young, bright, outgoing and wonderfully easy-natured, Danny Boy has settled into foster life like he has been doing this forever. New home? Cool. New people? Hello, new friends! Something new to learn? He’s listening. Whatever adventure comes next, Danny Boy seems pretty convinced he was born ready for it.

​

Danny Boy currently lives with small children and has done beautifully with them, happily rolling right into the rhythm of family life without needing to make a production out of it. He has been an incredibly easy keep in his foster home and seems genuinely happy just being part of whatever his people are doing. There is an uncomplicated sweetness about this boy that makes him awfully easy to enjoy.

​

And did we mention he has brains to go with those looks? Danny Boy is intelligent, engaged and eager to learn, making him the kind of young dog who is going to absolutely blossom with a family willing to continue giving him leadership, structure and opportunities to use that handsome little noggin of his. He is at such a fun age, young enough that there is still so much story left to write, but already showing us what a genuinely great dog he is becoming.

​

Danny Boy has even had the opportunity to meet a feline friend, and with some good leadership he showed us enough positive things that we believe cohabitating with the right dog-savvy kitty could certainly be in the cards. As with everything in Danny Boy’s young life, continued guidance and appropriate introductions will help set everyone up for success.

​

Mostly, Danny Boy just seems genuinely happy to be here. He likes people, he likes being included, and he approaches the world with a wonderful combination of curiosity, confidence and easygoing charm. After sitting behind Animal Control doors wondering what came next, Danny Boy finally has an entire world opening up in front of him.

​

Now he needs someone ready to show him just how big that world can be. Adventures, training, family, snuggles, a lifetime of firsts, and probably an unreasonable number of strangers stopping to tell you how handsome your dog is. 

​

Oh, Danny Boy… your forever family is calling. We have a feeling they’re going to fall pretty darn hard.
