Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America, majestic and breath taking. Our Denali is no different. He is the absolute peak of canine excellence. He's also pretty darn handsome and breath taking himself! Denali came to us from a shelter in Kansas  after residing there for a year. He was severely underweight, with several pressure sores, and was eating rocks at the shelter which landed him into solitary confinement. Even enduring all of the neglect and lack of socialization he hasn’t even a second, let that define him. He is the sweetest boy, that wants nothing more than to love and to be loved.

Denali has soared in excellence since his arrival. He has quickly learned all the wonderful things life has to offer outside of the shelter.  Thanks to his new routine/schedule and solving his stomach issues, he was able to pick up on house and kennel training very quickly. He might still have an accident here and there in his crate but with a consistent schedule that should go away with time. After all you can’t undo a year’s worth of shelter life in a short amount of time.

Denali is fantastic on walks, doesn’t pull at all, and can be handled by anyone. He has matched the energy and speed of the senior canine ladies in the house and also the younger adult male.  He loves being out doing anything with his humans. He has done good with bath time as long as he gets his licky mat with some peanut butter and for the most part tolerates it very well. He is a breeze for nail trims and ear cleaning.  He is also an exceptional car rider as well.

Denali is extremely food motivated and loves any and all treats. He has learned how to sit while looking up at you so longingly and attentive while patiently waiting for a treat. He has also learned lay, look and to patiently wait for food. Foster mom has even started to work with him on doing some other little tricks like shake and spin around. He is a very quick learner just as long as tasty treats are involved. We believe the sky is the limit on what this boy can learn.

Denali has been very respectful with the canine residents in the house. You can tell he wouldn’t mind another canine friend to play with and just pass the time with.  He is lower energy and ready to hold down a couch at a moments notice. He has a “ready to do anything or go anywhere” attitude just as long as his beloved humans are involved. He has loved every person and every dog he met and has a “Happy go lucky” outgoing personality. He’s going to make a fine addition to an adoring family.
