Who says blondes have the most fun, because Dolly wears a "Coat of Many Colors". She is a young joyful girl from the south, Georgia to be specific. This bombshell is just as bubbly as the real Dolly, and SEPR volunteers are head over heels for this sweet southern belle.

Arriving with heartworm, and skin issues, SEPR and the Tea vet team went right to work ensuring this girl would be looking and feeling her best in time. Dolly has completed heartworm treatment, and we have now been given ALL CLEAR to PARTY! For the most part Dolly's skin issues have been controlled with Nutrisource, a decent grain-free food and a daily apoquel allergy pill. She has been prone to an ear infection now and then, so ensuring her ears are cleaned out and frequently check for any foul smells to keep them infection free will be a must. 

 

Dolly enjoys doing anything with humans. She is young and loves a good adventure, so if you are in search of a hiking partner, exploration co-pilot, couch lizard, or biking junky this girl would be up for anything. Through x-rays we have discovered that one side of Dolly nasal passage way has been broken and compressed. Because of this she can sound like a pig when overheated or excited. There is nothing that can be surgical done to repair the trauma done to her face, but in the extreme heat her family will want to monitor her breathing during strenuous activities.

Dolly enjoys playing with other canine friends. There is not one shy bone in this girls body. Another canine companion who actively participates in playing would be ideal in her forever family. Like any true diva, this girl does not take any sass from her friends. She wears her heart on her sleeve and just wants to be friends while some smaller animals may not appreciate her exuberance.

Dolly is housetrained, and crate trained. Her foster parents are currently working on basic commands, and proving to her that attention will be earned by keeping four feet on the floor rather than trying to demand it by jumping. These things take time, but Dolly is a people pleaser, so we know with some consistent home boundaries and daily exercise the girl will catch on in no time. 

 

Caution her tail never stops wagging because she is just that cheerful ALL the time. However; she has been working "9 to 5" to shed this extra shelter weight gained waiting for her human saviors at the shelter. They say it’s not good for the heart treatment and joints or something like that. Dolly has learned to appreciate a good mix of veggies with her kibble to help find that beach bod again. We are happy to now report she is down to a svelte 55lbs of perfection!
