about ELVIRA
We would like to introduce you to one of the cutest little pitties in the midwest…. SEPR Elvira.
Elvira arrived with the Halloween Georgia transport, just a tiny shy little girl in a big scary new world. At a mere 38 pounds on intake, the first goal was to get a through vet visit to ensure she was healthy medically, and then putting a little weight on her. Being a reserved girl, Elvira was watchful in her new environment. It took some time for her to settle enough to feel comfortable enough to eat, but she is eating her 1.5 cups of food like a champ now.
Like any young curious dog, once she started to explore toys and bones, she decided to explore other things she could chew on… some of them being things that weren’t meant to be chewed on… but don’t worry Elvira has figured out nylabones and antlers are her favorite things to chew on.
Elvira is still working on expanding her world and building confidence in new environments, but we are happy to be seeing her young curious nature start to shine through. In addition to working on confidence building, she is also her basic commands. Sit, Look, and Wait already under her belt, she is quickly picking up Down, and Leave It.
Elvira isn’t all work and no play though, her favorite thing to do when she has down time is to snuggle on the couch with her humans… she loves her humans big and small. She also loves her canine companions, both big and small Elvira loves them all. She would do well with a laid back canine companion to help her confidence levels.
Even though Elvira is just a young girl, she is pretty laid back and VERY smart. Now she might get a little excited to see your smiling face first thing in the morning or when you let her out of the kennel, but she calms down quickly. We are sure as she continues to settle in, explore new environments, and build confidence, that we will see more of her happy playful nature.
Elvira is one of the cutest, sweetest little ladies around. She would love a family of her own willing to continue working on expanding her training horizons…willing to snuggle on the couch....with a canine companion to play with. We have no doubt that she will be a great addition to some lucky family.
