about figgy
If tail wags speak louder than words, SEPR Figgy is definitely a loudmouth! Figgy absolutely loves to be with people. Not just any people though, his people! Figgy is not one to trust just anyone, but when he knows someone and calls them his people, he makes his joy known through his excitable tail.
When Figgy first came to rescue, he had some nervousness around new people. Rightfully so, as in his short life he had bounced around a couple different shelters before finding safety at SEPR. The longer that he is with his new foster family, who absolutely adore him, he is becoming more trusting of new people, especially since he’s figured out that new people generally bring tasty snacks.
Besides his people, Figgy has two other loves in his life, toys and car rides! Figgy is definitely a professional car rider! He rides excellent shotgun, looking out the window in the back or resting on a dog bed. This kid loves to see the world!
Figgy also is a big fan of toys! He absolutely loves toys with squeakers, soft toys, and most recently, balls of any sort! Figgy has learned to play fetch with his foster mom and can now even bring the ball back and drop it at your feet! He is very smart and has learned many new things quickly in his foster home.
Another thing that Figgy is excellent at is snuggling. He loves to bury his nose in your lap on the couch and enjoy a movie or help you read a good book. He is very hopeful that he will soon find a family of his own who will share their couch or give him a nice soft dog bed to relax on.
At probably somewhere between one and two years old, Figgy has already survived so much disappointment and insecurity. His foster family is helping him get over some nervousness in his kennel. Figgy will absolutely thrive though with a family who wants to spend lots of time with him and teach him new things.
Before coming to rescue, Figgy lived with other dogs and currently lives in a foster home with other big dogs, small dogs, and a cat. With good leadership, Figgy could be successful living with other animals. Figgy also lives with two older teenagers and does well with all members of the family.
There is just so much more to tell you about the amazingness of Figgy! I bet you didn’t know that he’s great on a leash and would make an excellent walking partner! We would love for you to get to know our sweet Figgy better! He is waiting for the love and stability he has deserved from the start. Could he be waiting for you?
