The old idiom goes that one cannot see the forest for the trees. This is one Forest that you are not going to want to miss for the trees. He is the whole package. 

 

Forest was found as a stray in Georgia, and typically with these guys they bring along several hitch hikers from their previous life. A quick trip to the vet found that Forest was one of the mostly lucky ones, with only a slight positive heartworm. A couple heartworm treatments later and he is as good as new with a heartworm free diagnosis!

 

Forest is loving life outside of the shelter. He has absolutely flourished in his short time here. He has learned the new rules of the house with relative ease. He is fully crate, and potty trained. He knows sit, lay, stay, and look. He does need a little bit of a reminder of his manners here and there because he would much rather be playing a fun game instead. Forest tolerates bath time, and does fantastic nail clipping. He will do just about anything you ask him to do if he gets a bone or a fun toy to play with. Forest is more than content, and able to entertain himself with a nice bone, or chew toy. Forest is on the young side, so he does have a little “puppy” energy yet, but is easily drained with a few minutes of flirt pole, as short walk, or playing with his SEPR friend Muffin.

 

Within the first day of Forest’s arrival, his foster family knew he was a good boy that would only need a little bit of work to sand off the “rough edges” and be an outstanding dog. With just a little bit of training under his belt Forest has displayed just how quickly he can learn. Forest truly is a fantastic dog and makes new friends everywhere he goes, and wants to give hugs to everyone he meets. He is a fun-loving goofball that is open to all of life’s adventures.
