​Everybody loves a redhead, big heart, big personality, and a little fire mixed in. Francine is all of that wrapped into one gorgeous girl: stunning on the outside and even more beautiful on the inside.

​

Francine arrived on January 1st, 2024, along with another dog who was also scheduled to be euthanized that day. SEPR simply couldn’t let that be her fate. When she came to us, she was extremely shut down, unsure, and deeply distrustful of nearly everyone she met. Strangers meant danger, and it was clear she had lived a tough, independent life as a chained dog, everything about being in a real home felt foreign.

We made sure the puppy-making machine was officially closed for business and began her long road toward trust, confidence, health, and happiness.

Fast-forward two years, and we now have a true rock-star redhead. While Francine still prefers a smaller social circle than your average pit bull, those who earn her trust get the full VIP experience. The friends she chooses can do anything with her.

​

She enjoys canine companionship and would flourish either with or without a confident dog buddy in the home. On the couch, she’s a champion cuddle partner and movie-marathon expert, the best weighted blanket you’ll ever meet.

​

Francine is still young and loves outdoor adventures, nature walks, and exploring the quiet beauty of rural South Dakota. Car rides are absolutely her jam, wind in her ears, nose in the breeze, living her best life. Her nail-trim fan club at Tail Chasers Pet Service adores her and always spoils her with love, treats, and homemade goodies.

She’s also a proud SEPR graduate, having completed Train-A-Bull classes multiple times, helping train new volunteers, and mastering an impressive list of commands including (but definitely not limited to): sit, stay, come, wait, look, kennel, sit pretty, off, and settle. This girl runs like a finely tuned machine.

​

If you’re looking for loyalty, spice, sweetness, and a little redhead attitude to brighten your life, Francine might just be your soulmate. She thrives best in a calmer home, but don’t mistake that for boring. She’s absolutely up for fun, love, new experiences, and adventure with her person.
