about FROST

Just like a quiet winter morning, Frost came into foster care soft, white as fresh snow, and unsure of the world around him. This young adult pup lives up to his name, a little chilly at first, cautious with new things, but full of beauty and promise once you slow down and let him warm up.

When Frost first arrived, everything felt overwhelming. He found comfort only in the safest places a crate, a couch, anywhere he could tuck himself away and feel protected. Nights were especially hard at the beginning, as Frost needed reassurance that he wasn’t alone. With patience, routine, and a whole lot of love, he began to settle, finding peace sleeping nearby on a tiedown where he could finally rest easy.

As Frost has started to thaw, his confidence has grown in small but meaningful ways. Having calm, confident canine companions has helped him learn the ropes and shown him that the world isn’t as scary as it once seemed. When he plays with his dog friends, you catch glimpses of his true personality, a silly, playful side that peeks out like sunshine on a snowy day.

Frost is still sensitive to new environments and may pace or retreat to familiar spots when he feels unsure. He thrives with routine, gentle guidance, and predictability. He currently wears a DAP collar and Thundershirt and prefers to stay bundled up in cozy sweaters, a fitting look for a pup named Frost. He’s also learning what is and is not appropriate to chew on, though tags and tiedowns remain a tempting favorite.

He has made wonderful progress with house training, with only a couple of early accidents caused by being startled. Frost now signals when he needs to go outside, though he’ll happily tell you that snow and cold weather are not his favorite parts of winter, thankfully, his dog friends help lead the way when bravery is required.

Medically, Frost has been treated for Giardia and intestinal parasites and has done well since completing treatment, with a hopeful recheck ahead. He’s steadily gaining weight and strength as his appetite improves, though he may prefer a little privacy while eating, just another sign of a pup still learning that he’s safe.

Frost seems to feel more comfortable around women and may need slow, patient introductions with men as his confidence continues to grow.

What makes Frost truly special is his quiet resilience. Like the season he’s named after, he doesn’t rush, but given time, warmth, and understanding, he’s already beginning to melt hearts. Frost is looking for a calm, patient home that believes in slow beginnings, celebrates tiny victories, and understands that the most beautiful bonds are often built gently.

If you’re ready to let a little Frost into your life, this winter-white boy just might be the perfect match
