Everybody say CHEESE. 🧀

Gouda has wasted absolutely no time figuring out that this whole “cherished family pet” thing is pretty fantastic.

​

Gouda and his girlfriend, Brie, came to us after being left behind by the family who had previously used them for breeding. Once they were spayed and neutered, information surfaced that there was no longer much use for them.

​

Thankfully, Gouda has exactly zero interest in dwelling on his past.

​

This dude has zero fucks given in the very best way. He is confident, fun, spunky, vivacious and seems to operate under the assumption that everyone he meets is going to love him. And honestly, with those ridiculously short little legs, his compact Arnold Schwarzenegger physique and a personality approximately six times the size of his body, he may be onto something.

​

The photos really don’t do him justice. Gouda is a tiny little powerhouse of a dog with a BIG personality, and he lets every bit of it shine.

​

He is still learning that enthusiasm and good manners aren’t always the same thing. His doggy social skills can be a little rude and boisterous, so he’ll benefit from continued guidance learning how to rein himself in and interact a little more politely. He isn’t trying to cause trouble, Gouda just comes into life at about 110%.

Gouda is also fine-tuning some of the basics of living inside a home, including house training and the realization that he does not, in fact, need to pee on all the things. These are very manageable skills for a dog who is incredibly smart, food motivated and eager to engage with his people. With consistency and structure, we don’t expect it will take him long to figure out what is expected of him.

After spending part of his life being valued for what he could produce, Gouda is finally getting the opportunity to learn what it means to simply be someone’s dog.

​

To have toys. A comfortable place to sleep. People who laugh at his antics. Rules that help him succeed. Adventures. Training. Treats. And a family who values him because he is Gouda, not because of what he can make for them.

​

Brie and Gouda may be one ridiculously adorable little cheese board together, but Gouda brings more than enough personality to the party all by himself.

​

If you like your cheese compact, muscular, slightly unruly and served with a whole lot of personality, Gouda may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

​

Because really… who doesn’t love more cheese? 🧀
