There’s a saying that goes, “Joy is the simplest form of gratitude,” and that couldn’t be truer for our sweet SEPR Joy! This girl radiates happiness and is endlessly grateful for her safe and cozy foster home. With a wagging tail and a beautiful smile, Joy is enjoying life to the fullest!

When she's not lounging on the couch or keeping an eye on the world from her favorite window spot, Joy thrives in the warmth and love of her foster family. After spending too long in a shelter, this home is truly a dream come true for her!

​

Joy is making incredible progress. She is house-trained and hasn’t had an accident in months! She's great at letting her humans know when it’s potty time, though she might get a little sassy if she feels ignored. We’re also working on her kennel training; while she experiences some anxiety, she’s improving daily with the help of patience, training, and a calming regimen. Joy currently takes daily anxiety medications to help with continued success for kennel time.

While bath time isn’t her favorite, Joy tolerates it like a champ, and she’s becoming more comfortable in the car as she adjusts to rides. Though she may whine or pace initially, she’ll settle down with time and a little encouragement.

Joy shines when she interacts with her canine foster sibling. She has a delightful foster brother she loves to play with, and she has been cat-approved, too! Joy absolutely adores kids and eagerly greets her foster sisters with joy when they come home from school, ready to offer love and cuddles. She knows her basic commands and is eager to learn more with gentle guidance.

With a low energy level, Joy is the ultimate couch potato, thriving in a laid-back household where she can curl up next to her favorite humans while they enjoy a movie or cozy evening at home. Her ideal family is one that has time, patience, and love to help her overcome her remaining anxieties, focusing on training while enjoying plenty of cuddle time.
