Meet Kiara (aka Rue) – A Little Survivor with a Big Heart ❤️

 

At just 10-11 months old, Kiara has already lived through more than any puppy ever should.

 

Kiara came from rural Georgia, where resources are stretched thin and the number of puppies and dogs needing rescue far exceeds the help available. Her story began with heartbreak when she watched her mother lose her life while protecting Kiara and her siblings. Soon after, the puppies were separated by humans, and Kiara spent the following months living in a chicken coop while struggling with severe allergies.

 

Despite everything she’s endured, Kiara refuses to let her past define her.

 

This beautiful gray-and-white girl is pure sunshine wrapped in puppy fur. She is happy-go-lucky, adventurous, and always ready to explore the world around her. Whether she’s investigating a new smell, collecting treats, playing with toys, or showering everyone she meets with kisses, Kiara approaches life with joy and enthusiasm.

 

One of Kiara’s favorite things in the world is playing with her foster roommate, SEPR Dewy. The two can spend hours romping, wrestling, and chasing each other around the yard. If they had their way, playtime would never end!

 

Kiara is highly treat motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. She already knows “sit” like a pro and is making great progress with “lay down” and “wait.” Sometimes that puppy brain gets the best of her, but she’s a smart little cookie who loves to learn.

 

Like many puppies, Kiara is still working on being comfortable during long stretches of crate time. She tolerates it quite well overall, but every now and then she may “sing” you a sad little tune to let you know she’d rather be out making friends and having adventures.

 

Kiara loves people, enjoys other dogs, and would likely do well with a cat given proper introductions and management. Her expressive bouncing ears and bright personality make her impossible not to love.

 

Named after Nala and Simba’s adventurous daughter from The Lion King, Kiara lives up to her namesake every day brave, curious, resilient, and ready for her next great adventure.

 

Now all she needs is a family to call her own.

Reminder: puppies are like new born babies! A LOT of work and even when “raised right” we give no guarantees to who their individual personalities will develop into as adults. We are looking for families who clearly understand this and willing to “wow” us with their canine leadership and knowledge. Love will need to be guaranteed for LIFE, not just when they are small, cute, and cuddly.

**Families with children 5 years of age and under wanting to adopt puppies will be reviewed on a

case-by-case basis. Raising a puppy properly takes a lot of time, and we understand that in families with small children, time can be a limited commodity.
