Life with Maui is like a gentle Hawaiian breeze easy, warm, and full of quiet joy. This lovely senior girl has a heart so big it can’t be measured, and she shows it every day with soft face kisses, cozy armpit snuggles, and soulful gazes that make the world slow down just a little.

Maui may be a mature gal who loves to stop and smell the flowers, but don’t let that fool you she can keep up a pretty good jog and is a wonderful walking companion. She’s excellent on leash, with just the occasional bout of nerves when something unfamiliar crosses her path. Maui has blossomed in her foster home and become quite the local celebrity at Lewis Drug, where her easygoing charm wins over everyone she meets.

Her list of favorite things is just as sweet as she is: beef cheek rolls, Cheez-Its, “kong cocktails,” car rides, and long sunbathing sessions that suit her island name perfectly. She listens to commands beautifully, has excellent house manners, and happily settles into her crate after a fun outing or cuddle session.

​

Maui loves the people she knows deeply and is learning to be braver each day through gentle, slow socialization. She doesn’t need to be the life of the party just someone’s quiet, steady companion who enjoys appropriate outings and low-key adventures. A calm, retirement-style home with a laid-back canine friend or feline companion would be right up her alley.

​

She currently shares her foster home with both cats and a resident dog. She’s won over the cats with ease and is still working on building trust with her canine foster brother a process she approaches with patience and grace.

​

For a senior girl, Maui is in great health and even working on keeping her girlish figure. Her brave spirit continues to grow, and with each new day, she shows more of her beautiful, sassy, gentle self.

​

Maui has a special gift she can read you like a book and remind you to slow down and “smell the flowers.” If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who will fill your days with warmth, soft kisses, and sunshine, Maui just might be your perfect match.
