Nootro-Boom is exactly what his name promises, personality, presence, and just the right amount of BOOM. This stunning boy doesn’t simply walk into a room… he prances. With the most impressive, head-turning gait and a face full of expression, Nootro is equal parts athlete, comedian, and oversized lap dog.

 

Originally surrendered due to housing issues, Nootro knows what it means to be part of a family, and you can feel how ready he is to belong again. At around 68 pounds, he is convinced he is the perfect weighted blanket. If there’s an open spot on the couch (or your lap), he will happily fill it. He is deeply affectionate, connected to his people, and thrives when he feels included in daily life.

In his foster home, Nootro has lived with four children (ages 4, 6, 11, and 13) and has grown increasingly social, respectful, and mindful, especially when it comes to sharing furniture and space. He truly enjoys being part of the action but also benefits from clear expectations and structure. Predictable routine helps him feel secure, and when he knows what’s coming next, he absolutely shines.

One of the most special things about Nootro is how beautifully he self-regulates. He LOVES his kennel and views it as his safe, happy place when the world feels loud or busy. Having open access to it allows him to come and go as he pleases, which keeps him balanced and confident. Daily chew time is also a must, give this boy a bone and he is in pure bliss.

​

Out on walks, Nootro is an absolute rockstar. His leash manners are impressive, and he moves right at your side with that signature prance that makes strangers stop and smile. He’s also a champion in the car and enjoys adventures with his people. He already knows look, sit, lay down, wait, and shake, and if you ask for “shake,” be prepared… because he will gladly offer it over and over again with a proud grin.

Socially, Nootro has done well with other dogs in structured environments where boundaries are respected. Prior to entering our program, he participated in large shelter playgroups and proved he can absolutely have fun and be social, he’s just a lot of dog in play style and benefits from leadership to keep things appropriate. In his foster home, he enjoys supervised time with canine companions and continues to do well with guidance.​When cat tested, Nootro showed more interest in treats and humans than in the feline nearby. With slow, proper introductions and leadership, we believe he has the potential to coexist successfully with cats.

Nootro-Boom is not just a good dog, he’s a presence. He’s expressive, intelligent, affectionate, and full of life. He thrives with routine, clear communication, daily outlets for his energy, and humans who enjoy a little personality in their companion. In return, he gives loyalty, laughter, snuggles, and a whole lot of heart.
