about pixie stixx

Please welcome our newest petite pittie Pixie Stixx to the rescue!

Pixie Stixx is as sweet as the candy she’s named after but also has a spunky sassy side (like most divas do!!) She’s a brindle beauty with a perpetually quizzical brows, big expressive eyes and a set of quirky ears second to none!!!

Pixie Stixx has been settling into her foster home after a rough first night/week. She has some kennel anxiety and initally wore a Thunder shirt. It helped ease her anxiety, but not as much as when her 2 canine foster siblings were kenneled in the same room as her. She kennels up willingly and stays relatively quiet. However, she does have a touch of FOMO... when the other dogs are taken out and she isn’t, she throws a little tantrum then gets over it pretty quickly.  After a couple accidents in her kennel she got the gist of the schedule and has kept her space clean and dry ever since! We’re happy to report Pixie is house broken and has never had an accident in the house.

Pixie Stixx has learned to sit and knows she needs to sit and wait for her food until foster mom gives her the ok. She is working on mastering look, down and sit up. She has been on a few short walks and has great leash manners... as long as she doesn’t come upon other dogs who bark at her. Leash reactivity is something her foster mom is working on with her. Pixie is a smart lady who is eager to please, and foster mom is a patient dedicated dog handler!

So far Pixie isn’t a fan of toys. One time she decided to give a nylabone a shot, but it was short-lived. Time will tell if that’s truly her personality or if she’s just being coy.

Pixie has just been integrated with the other dogs in the house and so far it’s going very well! Small dogs are not her pals, but she has been spotted snuggling with her foster brother (another pittie) Snuggling is her favorite past time, so if you're looking for a lap warmer this winter, she's your gal!

Pixie is sure to make someone’s life a whole lot sweeter, maybe it’s yours??? Stay tuned for more on this little sugar doll!!!
