They call me... MR. PIG! AHHHHHH!! 

Hakuna Matata! Meet Pumbaa, a young kid who is ready to find his place in the circle of life.

Much like his namesake, Pumbaa is still working on his social graces, but what he lacks in manners, he makes up for in charm. He came into foster care already knowing sit and down, and he is making great progress learning wait. He is also working on keeping all four paws to himself and remembering that excitement does not mean it is time to be overly enthusiastic (unless you are a hyena).

Pumbaa is a quiet guy who prefers to take in the world around him before jumping into the action. He rarely barks, kennels easily with a treat, and does well relaxing on a tie-down when he has something to chew on. He likes to stay close to his person and, even in the backyard, always keeps track of where they are. He has had no accidents in his kennel. 

He enjoys watching kids play and does a great job staying calm even when they are running around. He may borrow a football if it rolls into his space, but he gives it back easily. Pumbaa has also become comfortable with the resident lion (obviously) and they can often be found hanging around together.

Pumbaa is doing well medically following his heartworm treatment. He is neutered and fully vetted. Contrary to his pigly call sign, his appetite took a few days to settle in, and he prefers peaceful mealtimes because even the smallest distraction can make him forget he was eating. He is more curious like a cat, definitely not porky! 

Car rides are still a work in progress: Pumbaa believes the front seat is the royal chariot, but otherwise he needs a little help getting into the truck. This should come as no surprise, but baths are also not currently on his list of favorite adventures.

Overall, Pumbaa is a goofy, loyal companion who is learning how to be part of a family. He is looking for a home that will continue helping him build confidence, practice manners, and discover that life with his very own pride can truly be worry-free.
