Bursting his way onto the scene is all star Rio. This lucky young lad has brought all of his chips to the table, and is ready to go all in. Rio has been working on his poker face, and is going to play his best hand at landing a forever family.  In his short time with us, he has shown his foster family what a truly exceptional dog he is.

 

Rio was found as a stray in Georgia, with multiple health issues. You could tell he didn’t exactly have the easiest start to life and had the miles to prove it. Rio has been nothing short of a tail wagging trooper throughout all the meds, surgeries and vet visits! He never lets anything get him down and makes new friends everywhere he goes. Whether it is a trip to the vet, out for a walk, or anywhere in between you will always see that tail happily wagging behind him.

 

Rio has quickly settled into his new life of being a treasured family member. He is a fairly low energy guy and can be found lounging around and cuddling up to his foster family. He is always up for anything though and doesn’t care what the activity of the day is, as long as he gets to be with his people, he’s 100% on board. He is eagerly waiting to be heartworm free, so he’s healthy enough to play with his new friends, the resident doggos.

 

Rio is great in his kennel and enjoys the memory foam bed and blankets that help make it extra comfy. He especially loves having one of the resident dogs as his roommate!  He has easily picked up on the daily routine, and will go right into his crate, ya know, as long as he gets a yummy treat, or a peanut butter filled Kong for being an exceptional good boy. Bath time is still a little scary and the tub is a little slippery so who can blame him. Slowly and surely he’s getting used to it though. Rio has been doing  great with nail trimming and makes it super easy. He loves car rides and looking out the windows and will joyfully jump right in! Rio is ready and willing to go wherever the cards take him!
