about ripley
“It takes but one person, one moment, one conviction, to start a ripple of change.” This quote could literally be the summary of SEPR Ripley’s last few months. What started out as a tragic tale for Ripley has brought her to us and we are honored to be the ones to be her change.
Ripley came to us after being hit by a car, shattering her pelvis and dislocating her hip. She was in quite a bit of pain at this time, and although it was possible for us to do surgery to repair her hip, we needed to wait for her pelvis to heal. After several weeks of pain management, her pelvis was healed enough to repair her hip. She is now on the road to recovery from all of her horrific injuries and has been enjoying going for walks and finally getting some couch time!
Even at her most painful moments, Ripley has been such a good natured girl, happy to get back scratches by wiggling around on the carpet or take every toy out of the toy bin. She enjoys ripping any stuffed toys you have apart and will surely get the squeaker out of each and every toy! She is also a big fan of Nyla bones!
Ripley has excellent leash skills and will be happy to accompany you on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood or join you for a car ride or a quick trip to a dog friendly store. She enjoys car rides and is ready to see the world more safely this time so she does not get hit by a car or injured again. Ripley absolutely loves meeting new people and her wiggle butt can be seen for miles when anyone even looks in her direction!
Currently, Ripley lives with two small dogs, a big dog, and a cat. She gets along well with all the furry friends in the family and would likely do well in a home with other animals, as long as she has clear boundaries and expectations set. Her best friend in her foster home is another female pit bull who she enjoys snuggling up with to sleep at night. Her foster mom says that they also like to play in a way that she calls, “lazy wrestling.” After a little play, though, Ripley is content to relax on the couch or in her dog bed, observing the world and resting her day away.
We believe that Ripley is likely around 8 years old, but you would never know it. She has the energy of a lady half her age and, as demonstrated by her love of toys and chews, she is definitely still interested in fun! She really is the perfect combination of a dog who would like to have fun with you for a bit, but is also content to rest when you get tired.
We think that after all Ripley has lived through to get to us, she deserves a forever family that thinks she is as amazing as we do and will stick by her forever. Could you be the ripple of change that this sweet girl has been looking for?
