about SAFFRON
Did you know that the spice saffron is considered, by many, to be one of the world’s most precious spices? Well, the same could be said about SEPR Saffron. With her rich crimson color, love for life, and eagerness to please, this girl is truly special!
As with most dogs that enter rescue, Saffron has some heartbreaking stories to tell about her past, but this girl is not letting her past define her future! She is so smart and loves to learn new things. After just a few weeks with her foster family, Saffron already knows sit and wait. She has also learned to walk nicely with her gentle leader and she is doing very well with kennel and house training. Her foster family will continue to work on basic commands with her, but she seems excited to learn!
One of Saffron’s favorite things to do is to play with her toys! She loves balls, stuffies, and, of course, anything that squeaks! Her favorite toys are ones that she can give a good chew! As with most things, Saffron approaches her toys with a zest for life! She is eager to try them all and so far, has not met a toy she doesn’t love!
As a young dog, Saffron has a moderate amount of energy. She enjoys a leisurely walk where she can enjoy the sights and sounds, or 20 minute play session, but then she’s up for lounging around. Oh, and don’t even get me started on her zoomies! This girl is fast and funny! She will definitely keep your family laughing! She would enjoy being a short adventure partner, as long as her new family also enjoys resting and relaxing.
Saffron currently lives with three other dogs and a cat. She enjoys the company of the other dogs, but it is yet to be determined if she’s a cat gal. Saffron would do well as either a single dog or in a multi dog home. Saffron also lives with two teenagers, and enjoys spending time with them. So far, her foster family has not observed her with any younger children, but she is very strong and does once in a while jump up, so younger children may accidentally be knocked over.
Saffron’s foster family has been so impressed with how quickly she has adjusted to living in a home. Since this is her first time ever living inside a home, with people, she is adjusting like a champ! Her foster family has been introducing her slowly to new things, since everything is new for her. At first she wasn’t quite so sure about windows, but she’s slowly starting to understand that these are common in a house and are actually nice to look out to see the world! When she shows signs of getting overwhelmed, such as getting a little vocal, she enjoys a little cool down in her kennel, and then she’s ready to go again. Her foster family is definitely working with her on using her indoor voice, but she gets a little better at this each day as she starts to understand how to live in a house. She is certainly a resilient dog!
A dog like Saffron is definitely precious and rare. If you’re looking for a dog that has a genuine appreciation of life, wants to learn new things, and will keep you smiling from ear to ear, Saffron is your girl!
