about SHAGGy ROGERS
Meet Shaggy Rogers.
Why this young man was left tied to a gas pump is a mystery. Maybe the mystery machine left him behind by accident? This landed him at the shelter in Hazelhurst Georgia. They cared for him until he made the long trip to South Dakota hoping to find his next big ghost hunting gig - or maybe just a forever family.
We couldn’t fathom why someone would toss such a big happy-go-lucky kid out like trash, but there’s no place but up from there. Shaggy was lucky enough to find placement with a temporary foster in Georgia, before transport made the long journey up to South Dakota. He took a few days to decompress from the long trip and change in scenery, mother nature wanted to throw a curve ball introducing him to freezing rain and snow right away. Shaggy took everything in stride running zoomies through the snow drifts.
Shaggy is happy, confident, curious. He loves chewing on bones and squeaky toys. Sometimes he likes to show his excitement by strutting around with a toy or bone and 'talking' to you. He also loves to be close to you, sitting with you in your favorite chair, napping on the couch. He will gladly share your lap and give you lots of kisses.
While Shaggy would rather hang out with you, he has no problem going to chill in his crate and he keeps it clean & dry. He is also brushing up on his manners, working to be a perfect gentleman. He has his basics down like Sit, Wait, and Down…but he can get excited to go outside so if you forget to ask him to sit me might forget to do it. Bath time is no mystery, he’s not a fan but knows it’s part of being a gentleman so he calmly waits for his spa time to be finished.
Shaggy is loving living with 3 teenage boys, he greets them every morning with a toy in his mouth and a good morning ‘woo-woo’. Along with the teenagers, Shaggy also lives with a resident senior dog. He’s ready to have fun playing, but he is learning to take things slowly as seniors don’t play like the younger dogs. Shaggy would love a nice female playful companion in his forever home. While canines are right up Shaggy's friends list, felines are little more tumultuous!
Shaggy is just a happy, enthusiastic, young man that will gladly join you on your next adventure…especially if you have a mystery to solve. He will be the perfect addition to about any lucky family, there’s no mystery there!
