Meet Skylar — a true resilient spirit, blossoming into a gentle gentleman this spring. 🌸🌤️ For years, Skylar’s life was marked by hardship — likely spent on a chain or fending for himself, with scars that tell stories of survival. Covered in scars and battling serious skin and ear infections, this senior pup has only known the hardships of life outside the warmth of a loving home.

Now, like the first blooms after a long winter, Skylar is beginning to heal and learn what it means to be truly loved. He’s undergoing treatment for heartworms and taking things slow — a perfect pace for this wise soul who’s discovering a new world of safety, comfort, and companionship. Recently, he had 11 teeth pulled, leaving him with a sweet, if slightly sassy, smile that’s full of love and longing for human connection.

Despite his past, Skylar’s heart is as warm as a spring day, and he craves nothing more than to be with his people — all of them. While he’s learning to enjoy his kennel time and get to know his canine brothers, he’s showing us that patience and kindness can bloom even in the most unlikely of hearts.
