about SPROUT

Sprout is a sweet, laid-back boy who lives to love. As his name describes, Sprout is leaving his shell and learning to enjoy everything life offers. His bravery has also been slowly excelling as he settles into his new foster family. Arriving with his mother, Donut, Sprout is a bit shy. He likes to take time to get to know you, but once given time to warm up, he will shower you with love. You will never need a blanket again with this boy; he truly believes he is a lap dog and will gladly take a place on your lap and in your heart.

Sprout is young and eager to learn and will keep all eyes on you for a few treats. Commands already under his paw are: sit, lay down, shake and "look," and he is ready to learn more! The growth already seen in just a few short weeks is fantastic. We know this boy is destined for greatness.

One of Sprout's favorite things to do is snuggle. He will climb into anyone's lap if given the opportunity and stay there as long as you allow. While he is not precisely lap-sized, he doesn't mind the challenge! Throw in some head scratches and belly rubs, and he is content. He truly enjoys a quieter, slower-paced type of lifestyle.

Sprout can be timid, but it doesn't keep him from enjoying meeting new people when they are respectful of his space. He has done well with new humans. Sprout also enjoys the company of older, well-mannered children but prefers ones old enough to know canine etiquette.

Sprout seems to enjoy other dogs as long as they give him time for introductions. He enjoys playing with his foster home's resident dog and hanging out with her after a few laps around the backyard. Sprout is very bonded with his mother, Donut, and often leans on her for confidence and support. He is also learning that the kitties in the house aren't toys and has done well staying out of their space when given directions.

Sprout is growing day by day with confidence and personality. We cannot wait to see him fully unpacked and enjoying life thoroughly. If you have a low-patience, quieter home, he would love to join in on your family's daily fun! Sprout would love to blossom with your family.
