about TYSON
We’re delighted to reintroduce you to Tyson, a 10-year-old silver-muzzled stud with the energy of a much younger dog, a goofy grin, and a heart big enough to fill your whole couch. He’s made great strides in foster care and is now ready for the most important chapter of his journey: a forever home to call his own.
Tyson joined the SEPR family after his previous family could no longer care for him due to life changes involving young children. But don’t let the “senior” label fool you — this guy is full of pep, personality, and playfulness. Tyson may be older, but he’s still got muscle, momentum, and a whole lot of love to give.
💪 Healthier, Happier, and Ready to Roll
Tyson has recently shed 10 pounds in foster care to help his joints and mobility — and he’s looking and feeling great! He’s stronger, more agile, and loving his second lease on life. He’s house trained, crate trained, and has excellent manners in the home. Daily Apoquel and a grain-free diet keep his skin allergies in good shape, and regular vet care has him thriving.
🧸 Let’s Talk Toys
Tyson loves toys. Maybe a little too much.
He can get overly excited and a bit possessive when toys are around, especially high-value ones like squeaky balls or plushies. He’s still learning how to play politely and is working on commands like “drop it” and managing his excitement when toys come out. It’s all part of his journey — and he’s making progress every day with the help of his foster family.
Because of this, a home that can provide structure and gentle guidance around playtime would be ideal. Tyson thrives on clear boundaries and consistency, especially when toys are involved.
🐾 Home Life & Personality
Tyson is currently living with a small dog and one of the resident cats, with no issues. He respects the animals in his space and responds well to calm environments. He recently joined his foster family for a day at the river and was a total gentleman — relaxed, friendly, and happy to observe the world.
While he doesn’t love rude or pushy dogs, he’s fine with well-mannered companions after proper introductions. With people, he’s sweet, loyal, and quietly affectionate — happiest when lounging beside his human on the couch or trotting alongside you on a walk.
💔 Sensitive Soul
Tyson is afraid of fireworks and storms. When things get loud, he’ll shake, pant, and look for a quiet place to hide — often choosing the bathtub. His foster family is working on helping him feel safe and supported through these tough moments.
✨ What Tyson Does Best
-
💡 Knows “sit” and “leave it,” working on “drop it,” “down,” and “release”
-
🛏️ Might protest bedtime, but settles in for the night with a couple of treats
-
🚗 Loves car rides and exploring new places
-
🧼 Tolerates bath time (as long as there are post-bath snacks!)
-
🐕🦺 Strong and energetic — walks are great, but he’ll need someone comfortable managing his strength
💛 Who He’s Looking For
Tyson is a strong, sweet, and spirited senior who just needs the right match — someone who appreciates his goofy energy, understands his toy quirks, and will help him stay healthy, happy, and loved.
If you’re looking for a loyal companion who still has a little fire in his belly and a whole lot of love to give, Tyson is your guy.
📩 Apply today and give Tyson the safe, structured, love-filled home he deserves. His best years are still ahead — he just needs someone to share them with.
