Is your life feeling dull? Do you need to spice things up a little? How about a lot?..  introducing Wasabi! He's the life of the party with a goofy little face and a heart of pure gold. His main goal in life is to make everyone around him as happy as possible, and he's dang good at it! 

You know those tear jerking stories, right? Where the dog grows up in crummy conditions, overcomes their past, and grows to become the best dog EVER?! Well, Wasabi is the quintessential comeback kid. He's got some lost time to make up for, and the boy is on a mission to carpe diem! Everyday is the best day ever for little Wasabi, and we're on a mission to find his family to fulfill that dream! Some of his absolute favorite things include dog friends and kids, he would thrive in a fun and boisterous home. 

Wasabi didn't grow up in an ideal home environment, so he had a ton of learning to do. Nobody had ever taught him how to "dog" before. His foster parents joke that he isn't the brightest pupil (have you seen his dopey expressions?!) but honestly he catches on really quickly! He's learned sit and lay down, he waits nicely for his meals, and is very calm in his kennel. One of his most quirky traits is the command we say to get him to spit something out. If he is chewing on a small piece of toy, and you tell him to drop it, he'll ignore you. But if you enthusiastically say "blegh!" he spits it right out!

Things that we see as mundane were a very big deal to him, but he's conquered them every step of the way! We are so proud that he's now a pro at car rides, baths, stairs, and cuddling on the couch calmly.  Wasabi still does have a couple struggles, which are easily managed with consistency. He is about 95% house trained, most days are no problem if you follow his routine. But those pesky neighbor dogs on the other side of the fence.. they are his nemesis and he loves to tell them off. 

The basic things that help you enjoy your time with your dog, such as walking on a leash, respecting peoples space when they have food, greeting guests politely, all of these are behaviors that come naturally to Wasabi. A gentle reminder is all it takes and 'Sabi is a delight to be around for everyone! New friends always comment on his petite stature, friendly demeanor, and the scar on his back. We don't know the exact cause, could have been from something hot poured over him, but we know it's permanent. However, Wasabi is the poster child of resilience and he'd ask you "What scar?! I don't recall having a bad day ever in my life!" 

 

He truly is a joy to have around, and once once he's matched to his perfect family, we know he is going to change lives for the better.
