Whopper arrived at SEPR clearly let down by humans in his previous life, but if you think that slowed him down or dimmed his light, think again. From the moment he walked through our doors, this big, debonair gentleman has been nothing short of stellar. True to his giant stature, Whopper comes equipped with a giant heart, a giant head, and an even bigger personality, the kind that effortlessly charms the pants off of everyone he meets. There isn’t a person he hasn’t wooed with his handsome looks and magnetic presence, even though his ears were heartbreakingly hacked almost down to his skull. Whatever his past may have held, Whopper is living proof that resilience can look like joy, confidence, and pure love for the people around him.

Weighing in at almost 90 pounds, this “Grande Whopper” (because everything about him is extra, in the best way) is a well-tuned, loving machine who is both physically impressive and emotionally solid. He already knows his basics, sit, lay down, look, stay, kennel, come, and he thrives on structure, engagement, and human connection. He’s currently polishing up his “four on the floor” manners and learning that greeting the world without jumping is the cool-kid move. Progress? Absolutely. This boy wants to do it right.

Whopper LOVES going for rides and is always ready to load up and roll out. Walks are another favorite pastime. He’s still building a positive relationship with his gentle leader, doing beautifully overall, though if the walk comes to a full stop, he may fuss with it a bit. He’s figuring it out and coming along nicely with consistency.

​

Socially? This is where Whopper really shines. He is one of the most dog-social dogs we’ve come across. He genuinely loves being part of a pack and has done wonderfully living alongside his canine siblings, including SEPR’s Nootro Boom. He seeks connection, reads other dogs well, and thrives in that shared energy.

​

Whopper also shares a home with young children and has handled it beautifully with appropriate management and adult supervision. He is steady, affectionate, and remarkably tolerant for a big guy his size.

​

When it comes to toys, Whopper isn’t the over-the-top toy collector type. He’s not a stress chewer, doesn’t anxiety destroy things, and is perfectly content relaxing with his people. Offer him a good bone, though, and he’s happy to oblige.

​

Medically, he recently had some lumps and bumps removed along with a dental and has otherwise been very healthy. He’s feeling good and ready to keep moving forward.

​

Despite his size, Whopper carries himself with easy confidence and a gentle, affectionate nature. He’s a presence without being overwhelming, loyal, steady, and genuinely happy to be part of a family. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t just join your life, he becomes the heartbeat of it.
