Handsome Roux was welcomed to SEPR with his girlfriend Maple after traveling from the Georgia countryside. These beauties had lived a previous life of isolation and breeding. When caring for them became too much, they were discarded like trash.

 

Both Roux and Maple were treated for heartworm disease, but even through this painful treatment, Roux enjoyed all the perks of family life he never had. Brains and beauty, this man is going places. Lady killer and heartthrob! Roux is also now heartworm negative!

 

Roux is a perfect example of DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. This handsome guy is the biggest baby there is. The only thing this guy wants in life is to snuggle up on the couch and take contact naps. It doesn't matter if it's with a human or another animal. Roux's only downfall is he hogs the couch and snores a little loud. He is a joyous, energetic dog but can be laid back when appropriately drained. Baths are the only thing he doesn't like, but with treats or a liki mat, he will tolerate it.

 

Roux lives with two other dogs and two other cats. Someone forgot to tell him he is bully breed; he is scared of the 14lbs cats. Regarding nap time, he has no problem snuggling up with the cats to take a good snooze. On the flip side, Roux enjoys a good game of fetch. He will play keep away from the other dogs with is prized ball.

 

When coming out of the kennel every morning, he is a little wild but will quickly settle down. Roux loves his kennel sleeping palace. One command, and he will take off running to the kennel. Tell him "Spot," and he will run to his tie down and wait for you. Roux is brilliant and learns commands fast. Because of his intelligence, he will find his own way of entertainment if not managed appropriately.

 

Living in a house with two children (10-14) Roux loves being with people of all ages. Sometimes, he forgets how strong he is and can be a bulldozer for smaller children. For the most part, he is a gentle giant with lots of kisses for everyone. He would lick you all day long if it were his choice, but we are working on that. He is a highly affectionate boy, true to his breed nature.

 

Roux is all about his playtime! He will grab a stuffed animal and entertain himself. Of course, having someone to play with is always more fun, whether it's another dog or someone throwing a ball for him.

 

Roux looks forward to long walks with his canine sisters. He has no problem jumping in the car for a new adventure and meeting new people.

 

After living a life without much love, Roux is ready to find his one and only! He is a sporty dude who will need plenty of daily management and brain to continue succeeding with his intelligence. Roux is the best of all worlds - cool, calm, and collected or wild, crazy, and fun! He is always looking for someone to adorn him with love and affection. This is your boy if you want a dog to be your entire world!
